A baby shower list without a registry
A baby registry locks you into one shop’s catalogue and one shop’s prices. What most people actually want is the list, not the shop: the things you need, from wherever they happen to be, in one place your friends can open on a phone.
Not tied to any one shop
Half of what a new baby needs is not in whichever chain runs the registry: the pram is from a marketplace, the sling is from a small brand, the second-hand cot is from a local listing, and someone’s aunt is knitting the blanket regardless.
In Hintik you paste a link from anywhere and it becomes an item with a title, a price and a picture. Things that have no link — the knitted blanket, a night of babysitting, a home-cooked freezer — go on as items too. Experiences are first-class here, not an afterthought.
Both of you keep it
One person should not be the bottleneck for a list this long. A shared list is kept by both parents at once — both add, both edit, and there is no cap on how many people you bring in if a sister is organising the shower.
Only the person who created the list needs Hintik Pro; the list carries their Pro, so everyone else editing it gets the same features without buying anything.
Nobody brings the second bouncer
Guests mark what they are taking, and everyone else sees it is spoken for. This is the single feature that makes a shower list worth having, and it is free.
By default the marks are hidden from the list’s owner, to keep the surprise. A shower is usually the case where you would rather know — so one switch reveals what is already claimed to you, which is part of Hintik Pro. Either way the guests always see each other’s marks, which is what stops the duplicates.

Frequently asked
Is this a baby registry?
Not in the retail sense — nothing is bought through Hintik and no shop pays us for placement. It is the list part, decoupled from any one store, so you can put items from anywhere on it.
Can guests see what has already been bought?
Yes. Anyone with the app marks what they are bringing and the others see it. That is what keeps two people from arriving with the same pram, and it costs nothing.
Can I see what has been claimed?
Not by default — the marks are hidden from the list owner so the shower still holds surprises. One switch reveals them to you if you would rather coordinate; that switch is part of Hintik Pro.
Can my partner add to the list too?
Yes. A shared list is kept by several people at once, with no limit on how many, and only its creator needs Pro.
What if someone wants to give something that is not a product?
Put it on the list anyway. Hintik handles experiences and favours as first-class items — a night of babysitting, a batch of meals, a photo session — the same as things you can link to.
